Yesterday Julian Tavarez was going to be the closer. [Rotoworld: "RHP Julian Tavarez could be the favorite for saves in the Boston bullpen.

'Of all the guys they have, I would think it would be Tavarez,' said one AL executive. "He's got the mind-set for it. He's actually done it in Pittsburgh."] The day before that, the Boston Globe listed -- no shit -- Runelvys Hernandez as among the candidates!

So, yes Brad, if the competiton remains Piniero, Tavarez, and Runelvys Hernandez, I'm keeping Craig Hansen. (Of course, if someone wants to make me an offer ...)

The Conventional Winick may have to revise its off-season analysis of the Bombers, who today received the happy news that their Joel Pineiro ($2/yr1....when did this guy get picked up? last round of the rotation?!) has been signed by the Boston Red Sox to be their closer!

Hey, Andy! Still retaining Craig Hansen?
