Gentlemen,

Unlike my co-commissioner, I wasn't terribly happy with CBSSportsline and given its inability to handle waivers and its failure to handle our free agent bids in a transparent manner, I say we move on.??However,?I certainly agree with Mark that if we stay, we do so with?an explicit understanding that we?take the system as it is and don't?impose upon the commissioner the responsibility to try to overcome the system's limitations.??That would?mean, by way of example,?that if we stay with CBSSportsline that we agree on specific parameters for free agent bidding so we can avoid the debacle we faced at the end of the season.

There was lots discussion at the AFL conference this year about dissatisfaction with CBS.? Most people felt the same way I did - that the system handled the basics just fine, but wasn't really built to handle anything more than the most rudimentary of league rules.? There was considerable excitement about a new site - Onroto.com.??A group of guys who started TQStats bought back the right to use?the old TQStats software system? As you may recall, until these guys sold out to a larger company who changed the software, TQStats was the best in the business.? It definitely handles waivers and FAAB, although I can't yet tell if it?will be able to handle our complicated FAAB rules.??It has a few other advantages - #1 - its cheap ($99 versus CBS which has increased to $179) and #2 - there is no charge for using the system until May, meaning that we have an opportunity to use the site for a month before we're forced to commit.

I've taken the liberty of setting us up on OnRoto.??If you go to?www.onroto.com and create a personal account using your standard email address, it should automatically take you to the USML site.? Take a look and?let us all know what you think.? I can't make any promises about this site, but it seems?to me like this is probably the way to go.
