[USML Announce] NFL

For what it's worth, the Packers were my favorite team when I was a kid. However, I mostly quit paying any attention to pro football at about the same time I moved to Chicago (which is now about 25 years ago), and I adopted the Bears as my team more or less by default. So, I can't really claim to be a true blue (and orange) Bears fan. I was voicing my "opinions" just to tweak the Packer fans in the league and generally incite everyone.

I actually didn't watch any of the game because I was driving back from Iowa, where I spent the weekend watching college wrestling. I'd rather watch a bunch of really tough guys go at it than watch football. (BTW, the Hawkeyes kicked butt, as usual.) But I'm willing to pretend I was actually precient. If only Fruiter (or Buddha or Blocker) had any balls, I'd also be a little bit wealthier.

Hey Mark. Seems to be lots of silence from Packer Nation, huh?

I've got to tell the truth. I stopped watching for awhile when Arizona took the 14 point lead in the 2nd half thinking that no defense can be bad enough to let the Pack back into the game. I was wrong - the Cardinals stunk almost as bad as the Packers. I came back to the TV surprised to see the Greenies about to tie it up. I can't say I was disappointed. The thought of all of those Cheeseheads getting their hopes up only to see them dashed made the game even more enjoyable. And it just kept getting better. Rodgers marches them downfield for the tying drive, but leaves too much time on the clock. Never fear - Rackers muffs a chip shot resurrecting the hopes of Packer fans everywhere. The Packers win the coin flip and it seems like it would only be a matter of time before they're breaking out the cheese curds in celebration all over Wisconsin and the North Shore. But it all only serves to set up the ultimate dagger in the heart. The Packer offensive line gets beaten by the smallest guy on the field and just like that ITS OVER.

I could just hear Uncle Doug cackling derisively.

What a game!!

Now - when do pitchers and catchers report?

That's only because you failed to reply when I said I was willing to bet on the proposition.
