ITEM:
Red-hot infielder Jake Fox, who entered Tuesday with more homers than
anyone in Grapefruit and Cactus League play, extended his lead with a
solo shot to open the third. Fox has eight homers and 13 RBIs, leading
the O's in both categories, and is a front-runner for one of
Baltimore's bench spots.

WINNER: Angry Young Men, savvy selectors of Jake Fox in the $5
rotation round, add even more lumber to a heavy-hitting lineup that
features Konerko, Morneau, Choo, Hamilton and Brignac. Can substitute
Fox for light hitting Mathis and watch those taters grow. Trendline:
modestly curving UPWARD.

LOSERS: Nukes--fading Derrek Lee likely to be benched in favor of
Jake the Rake, even if/when nagging wrist injury heals. Bombers--in
event Lee returns, both Reynolds and Wieters will see playing time
reduced to accommodate this year's edition of Jose Bautista, further
limiting Bombers' ability to dump either player. Trendline:
SUBTERRANEAN.
