ITEM 1:
OAKLAND -- Matt Harrison said he was "very disappointed" in what
happened on Sunday afternoon at the Coliseum. It wasn't there for a
second straight start. He pitched just 1 2/3 innings Sunday after
throwing three innings in his last start. He allowed four runs on six
hits and two walks against the A's while facing just 12 hitters before
David Bush took over. Harrison began the season with a three-game
winning streak and a 1.23 ERA but is now 0-3 with an 11.23 ERA in his
last three starts. He allowed seven runs over three innings in his
previous start against the Blue Jays on Tuesday in Arlington.

ITEM 2: Remember during spring training when the debate was whether
veteran Matt Thornton or rookie Chris Sale should start the season as
White Sox's closer? Well, Thornton won the job, but he finished April
0-for-4 in save opportunities, and was 0-2 with an 8.64 earned-run
average.

LOSERS: Riptorns have no chance landing Mike Trout in dump deal.
Berliners remain mired in last place and face their worst year since
Jeffrey Winick annointed Roto God. Harrison's a $20 FAAB bust and,
sad to say, the Berliners JUST DON'T MATTER.

WINNERS: Teams that have the prospects to entice the Berliners to dump
the likes of Lester, Verlander, Crawford, Rios (well, maybe not Rios).
