BTW, we should all be proud of fantasy baseball maven Nate Silver for NAILING the election. For a 
good laugh or three Google "Drunk Nate Silver Predictions".

The Cubs didn't "trade" for anything and when they do it won't be for a reserve OF. They spent $5.5 million on a guy that they are likely to turn into a bean that they can then trade for someone more interesting. The best analogy is Paul Maholm who Theo turned into Arodys Vizcaino. Remember that name. He's going to be a good one (a front line starting pitcher, that is). And as best I recall at about this time last year Brad Lee traded for a "useless bean"/"reserve outfielder" named Trout. That seemed to work out pretty well. 


And Doug, as bad as the Cubs were last year, by my account the only difference between the Sox and the Cubs is that the Cubs will have a higher draft pick. Both teams were sitting in front of their televisions watching other teams in the playoffs.
