Fenster: They treat me like a criminal. I'll end up a criminal.

Hockney: You are a criminal.
Fenster: Why you gotta go and do that? I'm trying to make a point.

Substitute "puffer" for "criminal" and you can almost hear Andy speaking the words.

How about we take a closer look at Andy's "real" ballplayers:

Yordano Venture: On the shelf for elbow soreness during the Spring, suspended for throwing at hitters and then a trip to the DL for "ulnar nerve inflammation". That's bad, right?

Jesus Montero: You'll notice that there are no Rotoworld quotes for Montero. That was pure Andy. Post hype? You can say that again. Also, post PED suspension and post time off for getting into a fight with one of his coaches. This guy is as likely to make an appearance in the big leagues as Keyser Soze.

Kendall Graveman: Baseball HQ refers to him as a "risky play" and projects the following for the balance of his season:

Rotowire say: "it's hard to imagine him keeping runs off the board like this unless he can miss more bats going forward."

That leaves us with Erasmo Ramirez, a decent $5 pitcher with solid potential to deliver 8-10 dollars of value next year.

I imagine that Andy's line has been ringing off the hook......not.

Buyer beware, my friends.

I think I just got ripped for quoting Rotoworld notes by a guy who started his message by ... quoting from Rotoworld notes! Kerbs, call me offline & we'll talk about those "suspects" ...

From today's team-by-team notes in Rotoworld: " I’ve probably made this clear in my writings by now, but I don’t think Miguel Sano is ready to hit major league right-handers. And the Twins obviously didn’t bring him up from Double-A just to use him against lefties. My assumption is that Sano will prove useless in mixed leagues, but the power is there for him to prove me wrong."

And with a $10 salary, he needs to be reasonably decent, even next year, to have any value. If he turns out to be a year or two away, and then takes another year or so to really click in the majors (reasonably common), then he provides very little value to a buyer over the course of this contract. Not saying I wouldn't take him--because I surely would given his upside potential--I just wouldn't attach a huge value to him. A $2 guy (like Gallo) has a much shorter and more direct route to real fantasy value.

All that said, Klein's puffery, while less poetic that Winick's, is probably more brazen in its cut-and-paste of small samples of convenient stats to shill an odd lot of former prospects and just plain suspects.

And get Sano quickly before he ends up like Gallo - basically hitless after his first week and promptly shipped back to AAA ball.

Now ... for those who want *real* ballplayers, the K9 has plenty left on the shelves. I've included Rotoworld commentary for those who don't want to pay Jeff's subscription fee for his behind-the-curtain praise of K9 players. :)

Kendall Graveman ($5, Y1) (Rotoworld: "The right-hander has been terrific since returning from the minor leagues in late May. Over his last eight starts, Graveman has a 2.01 ERA in 53 2/3 innings.")

Erasmo Ramirez ($5, Y1 ) (Rotoworld: " Over his last seven starts, Ramirez has allowed five runs in 38 innings (1.18 ERA). Overall, he is 7-3 with a 3.80 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP and a 61/25 K/BB ratio in 73 1/3 innings.")

Yordano Ventura ($5, Y2) (Polishing his World Series ring and poised for a big second half.)

Jesus Montero ($2, Y1) (People used to move mountains for him, almost as if he were Joey Gallo. Now he's the classic "post-hype" bean, awaiting a call-up from the M's. Hitting .324-14-63 in AAA in the first half!!)

And there's more. All offers are welcome, though they need to be cap friendly to work.

 That is all

I know you must be saying to yourself, how could he possibly have more grade A beans after all that he traded to Dennis.

And yet, fresh off of his call up, young Mr. Sano is off and demonstrating why he was an even more highly rated prospect than Joey Gallo. Same kind of power, but with outstanding command of the strike zone.

He's batting .385, has already knocked in his 2nd run today and has been moved up to #5 in the Minnesota lineup.

I can't think of a better player to build your 2016 campaign around.

You know where to find me.....
