[USML Announce] A Rod Playoff

Let’s see, if my math is correct, that would have made him a still horrible 2-3 in NFC Championship games instead of a truly god awful 1-4. Bad, but definitely less bad.

Apparently Buddha is unaware of the saying “when the going gets tough, the tough get going”. It would seem that in Packerland it goes something like, “when we lose there’s always a good excuse”. About what you’d expect from a fan base that reveres Charles Martin and one of the dirtiest plays in the history of the NFL.

Stats are great, of course, but how different would this discussion be if this play hadn’t happened?

Can’t blame it all on Danica’s ex.

And look at the QB Ratings – they diminish the deeper he goes into the playoffs. He’s great in the early games and then suffers what some athletes refer to as “shrinkage”. As opposed to Brady who always finds a way to guide his teams to victory in the big games, ARod has never managed to do that. I love the Phillip Rivers comparison. They’ll both be remembered as solid QBs that were very good but far from great. I have to give credit where credit is due though. ARod is the gift that keeps on giving for Bears fans when the playoffs come around. After the Bears have performed like….well…the Bears, I know that I’ll still have the enjoyment of watching the Greenies let down their fans once again with ARod at the helm.

ONE SB. Hasn’t been able to elevate the team. Period. Say what you want but seriously he’s a little better version of Phillip Rivers.

The last sentence above should highlight that while the QB is hugely important to a team's success or failure it remains a team game.

If anyone wants to step forward and defend Aaron Rodgers’ playoff performances, I’ll be happy to engage. He’s a really good quarterback when it doesn’t matter, but he sucks when it counts.

Am I mistaken, or do I recall correctly that Jeff is a fan of an NFL franchise that hasn't had a good QB since Sid Luckman (unless you want to count a season or two of Jim McMahon's)? I get the whole Bears fan thing, but talking about QBs seems to me to be leading with his chin.

I actually thought Mark did a nice job. Not a half-assed, get to the playoffs and then collapse sort of job, but a thoroughly good job. Let’s not insult the man by comparing him to Rodgers.

Note to league: Please do not make any transactions on your rosters until after we have finalized the rosters. You will have ample time to do this before games start, but if you make changes now, it interferes with my ability to check the drafted rosters against the website listing. So please do not activate/reserve any players. And of course no FAAB bids.
