"The Berliners could be interesting if Montgomery lands in the AL. In fact, they might even be persuaded to segue from rebuilding to making a run at the Damon. If not, this team is looking to dominate from 2025 on."

Yeah, that was my one draft day regret, letting the evil Berliners in on Montgomery (evil in the sense of evil Yankees or evil Dodgers). My rationale at the moment was taking an Aranda in the hand (see below) to a Montgomery in the bush. But it could also be construed as having a Biden moment, so if Montgomery lands in the AL, write it off as just that and I will bring Wisconsin cheese to next year's draft.

"Rays: INF Jonathan Aranda
This offseason, the Rays set out to create a path to playing time for Aranda. The 25-year-old infielder has checked every box in Triple-A, batting a combined .328/.421/.565 with 43 homers and 166 RBIs in 199 games for Durham over the past two years. But that success hasn’t necessarily translated to the Majors yet -- he’s hit .212 with a .656 OPS in 66 games. Competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster, Aranda knew he’d get a lot of chances to prove himself this spring. So far, he’s done everything the Rays could have hoped for and more. Aranda is batting .371 with a .992 OPS in 12 games this spring and now seems like a lock for a big league job. -- Adam Berry"
