 FWIW, I agree with that reading of the rules, and I think it's come up before and been handled that way. And I say this knowing that Trevor Story could get DFA'd about any minute now.

Rule 14.6 applies to a player "traded" to the NL, but does a cut by AL team/signing by NL team qualify?
