<div class=MsoNormal>I just checked the standings and see that there is going to be a very tight contest for the Damon this year. I’m glad to see that I was wrong about the consequences of the trades between the Brats and the Red Hots.</div>

<div class=MsoNormal>While I stand by my assessment of the trades as well as my decision to take a seat on the sidelines, I can see that my motivation has been misunderstood. I didn’t do it to punish anyone or to make a statement. Quite the contrary. Had I followed my initial instincts, I would have aggravated myself and no doubt the rest of the league by discussing ad nauseum how Franklin and Zunino have played since the trade or by correcting John’s claims about Omar Infante’s advanced age or Joe Mauer’s lack of production/value. That seemed pointless. What’s done is done. While I thought I was taking the high road by allowing the league to proceed in a manner that caused me (and I hoped, the league) the least amount of trouble, I can see from the email traffic (I reviewed it yesterday in a calmer moment) that at least a few members of the league perceive things otherwise. </div>
