<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"> Yes. Once you have less than 17 reserves, when you go to the first drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the FAAB section (the one that says “Replace the following
player/Select what you wish to do:”), you will see an option for “waiver a pitcher or fill an open slot.” Once you click that, you will see a list of pitchers followed by “Slot 1, Open FA.” Select “Slot 1, Open FA” to use your empty slot. Important note:
when you have 17 reserves, the system does not give you an option to fill an open slot, so if you try to confirm what I am saying before you waive your player, you won’t see the empty slot listed.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

say that you can waive the player at any point during the season (so long as the player remains in the NL), and collect the FAAB dollars then.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
