[USML Announce] Where's Winick?

Dr. Shandler has many things to say in his newest tome, the most important of which is the following:

"The truth is, perhaps the least valuable part of this book are the statistical projections [and associated values] that appear at the bottom of each player box."

So, while Brad Lee's team may be one that is presently indicated to have an amazing amount of undervalue, the lesson is to not be fooled.? They're called projections for a reason.

As for the more important question of when my magazine will be appearing on the shelves of your local book stores, I am advised that the release date is next week.? The big mystery is whether I was able to sneak in my reference to the Professor in this year's edition.? The editors have left Mr. Klein on the cutting room floor the last few years.

That is all.

Brother Andrew:

??? Dr. Shandler's accolades about Sir Jeffrey are too lengthy to quote here.? Given the competitive nature of our USML, you cannot afford not to buy Shandler's tome.?? As we say in Illinois, you gotta pay to play. And as far as Dos and Don't are concerned, I have only one: Never pick a fight, but if you get in one do whatever it takes to win (even if that means trading with Rebuilding Blocker).

??? Best Wishes for the Hew Year,

Brad?

Bradley,

It's a tough economy, and some of us can't afford subscriptions to Shandler's materials. ?Can you at least give us the actual quote? ?Anyway, the Sporting News provides the proletariat with a list of auction league "do's" and "don'ts" Perhaps you should take heed of Don't #5: ?"Hold vendettas against other owners." ?(Sporting News Fantasy Baseball 2009, p.15; quote from Winick noticeably absent).

As for my early preparation, recall that our draft is next weekend. ?And in terms of retention rosters, I believe that Dice-K is $1000 undervalued all by himself. ?I am considering signing him to a decade-long contract.

Humbly,

-Andy

? Ron Shandler, the dean of fantasy baseball, pays Mr. Winick a very nice compliment in the acknowledgment section of his 2009 forecaster (and I might add, that even though we sophisticates who study at the feet of Shandler are taught to pay little heed to his dollar values, my players are about $2,000 under valued--it's shocking just how good my team is).
? ? So, if you must know about Winick's whereabouts, try reading something besides that rag published by Sporting News....although I must say, given the quality of your drafts, I am shocked that you actually prepare this early--trying studying something else next time, perhaps Mad magazine.....
