ITEM:
Los Angeles Angels slugger Kendrys Morales' comeback from a fractured
left ankle has entered an indefinite holding pattern.
Morales left Arizona Monday to meet with a Los Angeles foot
specialist. The Angels had already acknowledged that Morales will
begin the season on the 15-day disabled list. Now, it appears he could
be out for the first several weeks.

WINNER: Nukes--Mark Trumbo, rotation draft pickup, becomes team's best
first basemen and only serious slugger. With Trumbo on active list and
Farnsworth and Gregg landing closer gigs, Nukes' draft not looking so
daft after all. With Bedard rounding into '08 form, the trendline is
UPWARD MOBILITY. Second place winner trophy goes to Bombers--with
Nukes unlikely to dump by April 1, Bombers have no competition in
quest to land prospect Mike Trout from Berliners.

LOSER: Hoosier Dads--loss of Morales cripples offense, and aging
hitter Vlad Guerrero bears a heavy load to keep Dads in hunt in
HR/R/RBI columns. Team trending SOUTHBOUND.
