ITEM:
Royals optioned OF Lorenzo Cain to Triple-A Omaha.
The 24-year-old finished with a solid .306/.348/.415 batting line in
2010 and swiped seven stolen bases in eight chances. Acquired in the
Zack Greinke trade, Cain was immediately expected to start in center
for the Royals this season. Unfortunately he has options left and
Mitch Maier and Gregor Blanco are out of them. Cain is a good bet to
unseat Melky Cabrera at some point during the season.

WINNER: Block's Bombers--Melky Cabrera is team's best OF and they now
to get to accumulate his numbers for a few weeks before Royals
realize sending Cain to minors was king-size blunder. Trend remains
FLAT.

LOSER: Angry Young Men drafted Cain in vain, at least for a few weeks.
Must now count on Lastings Milledge off reserve roster while peddling
one of their starters for someone who can help in the SB category.
Until that happens, team's march to victory shows signs of SLOWING
DOWN.
