Actually, the one I was thinking of involved Wilson Alvarez. But here's something fun: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Chicago_White_Sox_no-hitters

If memory serves, it was Joe Cowley (I did not look this up!). I
ecall years before that a trio of Sox hurlers threw a non-hitter (was
t started by Cisco Barrios...? Can't recall).
Here's one: I attended the 8 inning "no-hitter" Andy Hawkins threw
gainst the Sox in Sept. of their last year in old Comiskey. Sox won
-0 because of some terrible fielding by their LF, an expensive FA
ust. We were cheering for the Sox not to get a hit cos they were
inning. A couple years later Fay Vincent said the game didn't count
s a no-hitter. Who cares. I was there (as I was when Buehrle threw
is perfect game, but I've told that story as nauseum so I'll shut it
or now).

Who was that White Sox pitcher that had a similar no-no way back when? Lots
of walks. I'm not sure he even won.
