BOSTON -- Daniel Bard wasn't progressing as a starter at the Major League
level, so the Red Sox optioned the converted reliever to Triple-A Pawtucket
on Tuesday. Bard's latest start on Sunday against the Blue Jays was by far
his worst since joining the Red Sox's rotation this year. Over 1 2/3
innings, he allowed five runs, walked six and hit two batters.

*LOSER*

Berliners. Any hope of passing Nukes in ERA and fending them off in WHIP
categories fades with Bard off Nukes' active roster as *BERLINERS MISS
MATUSZ.*

*WINNER*

Nukes. Unless they put Ubaldo on active roster, Nukes poised to garner
critical pitching points and *BITE OFF THE BRATS.*
